1. Introduction

Welcome to AcademyLite (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our freelance marketplace platform located at academylite.com (the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to comply with these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. About Our Services

AcademyLite is an online platform connecting freelancers with employers globally. Employers can post jobs, and freelancers can apply or post gigs by purchasing credits.

  • Both employers and freelancers are required to verify their identity.
  • Payments are processed via AcademyLite’s centralized PayPal business account, which acts as the hub for all transactions.
  • AcademyLite facilitates transactions and provides the marketplace, but does not provide direct employment or guarantee work.

3. User Obligations

When using AcademyLite, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration and use.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • Use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Respect intellectual property rights and refrain from posting or sharing unlawful content.
  • Not engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activities.
  • Comply with any additional rules or guidelines provided on the Platform.

4. Fees and Payments

  • Employers: A non-refundable $4 small order fee applies to all tasks (gigs) and projects (jobs) under $100. In addition, a 10% processing fee is applied to all payments made through the Platform. For tasks or projects of $100 or more, only the 10% processing fee applies.
  • Freelancers: A 20% commission fee is charged on all completed tasks (gigs) and projects (jobs), regardless of amount.
  • Fees are automatically deducted from payments before funds are released to freelancers.
  • All withdrawals are subject to the Platform’s policies and may require verification.

5. Payment Processing

All payments on the Platform are processed through AcademyLite’s centralized PayPal business account. AcademyLite serves as a facilitator of payments and a marketplace connecting employers and freelancers, but does not hold funds as a bank or escrow.

  • Employers pay for services or projects through the Platform, and funds are collected in AcademyLite’s centralized PayPal business account.
  • Freelancers receive payments in their Account Balance once tasks (gigs) or projects (jobs) are marked complete and verified. These funds are withdrawable according to Platform policies.
  • If a refund is approved for an employer, the refunded amount is credited as Refunded Credits in the employer’s dashboard. These credits are non-withdrawable and can only be applied toward future purchases or job postings.
  • AcademyLite handles the processing, disbursement, and any approved refunds, ensuring that all transactions between employers and freelancers flow securely through the centralized PayPal account.

6. Account Termination and Suspension

You may terminate your account at any time by following the Platform’s procedures. Termination will not affect any pending transactions or obligations.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law without prior notice.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, software, and designs, are owned or licensed by AcademyLite. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use any content without prior permission.
Users are responsible for the content they post and must ensure it does not infringe on any third-party rights.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Platform and services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. AcademyLite disclaims liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.
We do not guarantee availability of jobs, quality of services, or payment from any party.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Serbia. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Belgrade, Serbia.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes. Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes your acceptance.
